A Year of Community Involvement…

Lee Groeger - 12/09/2014

3e-march-of-dimes-njWe had a busy year here at 3E Public Relations, but we always make time to give back to the community! Whether we’re donating money, services, or just our time, it is important to all of us that we make meaningful contributions, both personally and professionally. Here’s a look at some of the philanthropic initiatives our team took part in this year!

March of Dimes

Premature birth has directly touched the lives of several people here at 3E Public Relations. March of Dimes was there for those families in their time of need. We wanted to give back so we put together a team to walk in the March for Babies® on April 27th at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey. Thanks to the generous donations of our team members and their supporters, we raised over $1,000 to give hope to the families of the more than half a million babies born too soon each year.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was one of, if not the, most successful fundraising campaigns of the year in terms of raising awareness of, and educating people about a disease. It was definitely a case study for the books! We were proud to be a part of this historical fundraising effort. In addition to donating more than $400 to the ALS Association, 3E PR and neighboring businesses accepted the challenge. The photo below is proof we did it, but here’s the full video!

Passionately Pink

Employees, colleagues, family and friends helped us host a Susan G. Komen Tie a Ribbon campaign and celebrations to raise awareness and support the fight against breast cancer!

Over $1,000 was raised, which included donations to our company fundraising page, funds raised from the sale of t-shirts we designed, and corporate donations from 3E Public Relations and SGW Integrated Marketing Communications. We also got a little creative with the refreshments that were served at a company-wide celebration after the ribbon-tying. Here’s a short video commemorating the event.

Pantene Beautiful LengthsLee-Hair

lee-hairI’ve been growing out my hair for what feels like forever so I could finally donate it, which is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. This October, I finally bit the bullet! There are various organizations that host these wonderful programs whereby wigs are created for people with cancer and other illnesses from hair donations. I chose to donate through Pantene Beautiful Lengths. It was my pleasure and privilege to be able to make this small contribution.

Blood Drive

Longtime 3E Public Relations client Delta Dental of New Jersey hosts blood drives at least twice a year with the New York Blood Center. One in three people will need blood sometime during their lives and if only 1% more of Americans donated, blood shortages would disappear. Our Social Media Manager, Emily Maupai, and I donate whenever we can!

It’s takes a little extra effort, but we really enjoy it! And not to worry … we have plenty of fun, too! Exhibit A: this year’s Halloween party. Can you tell who is who?

Next up, Toys for Tots! Here’s a picture of the toys we collected during last year’s holiday drive:

Thank you to all our employees, business partners, friends and family who generously supported our 2014 community service programs. We look forward to continuing our volunteer efforts and contributions next year!
