With that, we are pleased to introduce our 3E Public Relations summer ’26 interns Emily, Corey and Alyssa! Take a look through our Q&A’s with them below to learn a little about the new additions to the 3E PR team.
Meet Emily
Where do you go to college and what is your major?
I’m a rising senior at Montclair State University. I am majoring in Communication and Media Studies.
What course has been your favorite and why?
My favorite course from the past three years at MSU has to be Multimedia Production. It was my first time getting hands-on experience in graphic design and branding. I learned how to develop a campaign for a company. I always left that class with a smile on my face. That class solidified my passion for continuing graphic design and multimedia work.
Why do you want to go into a career in PR or social media?
My interest in social media goes beyond just consuming it. Social media is a great career path for someone like me who wants to get into graphic design. I’m interested in learning how to use social media as a tool. Whether that be for marketing, content creation, or building community. I want to build a career in social media not only for myself, but for the future companies that I work with.
What is the #1 thing you want to learn in your internship?
I hope to gain work experience as a graphic designer in a professional setting. To gain the skills necessary when working with clients in bringing their visual style to life. Overall I want to learn the importance of visual communication and how it’s connected to public relations.
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
Some of my hobbies include reading, illustration, and writing. I’m interested in the fine arts, film, social media, and graphic design. I try as much as I can to use these interests or hobbies in my work. I enjoy most hobbies that let me grow my artistic skills, and I hope to build a career in an artistic field.
What is your favorite social media platform?
My favorite has to be YouTube. It’s been around for a long time and you can learn anything from just one video. It’s also a great platform for anyone to create community through their content.
Where is your favorite place to vacation?
My favorite place I’ve gone to vacation is Maine. I’ve only been once, which was a few years ago. I went with my family in the summer before going to college, and it was a great experience. Acadia National Park was beautiful and the cities were inviting.
What is your favorite book?
I don’t believe I’ve read my favorite book yet. My favorite book genres are fantasy, horror, and historical fiction. I also love most poetry books I’ve read over the years.
What movie could you watch over and over again?
A movie I could never get tired of is The Princess Bride. It’s a comedic fantasy movie from the late 80s. It makes me laugh while being set in a fairy tale story.
Meet Corey
Where do you go to college and what is your major?
I go to The College of New Jersey, where I am majoring in Communications with a specialization in Mass Media and Social Media minoring in Marketing.
What course has been your favorite and why?
My favorite course I have taken at TCNJ is Strategies of Public Relations. I enjoyed this class because I got to dive into Public Relations first hand by creating a PR Plan and Media Kit for a TCNJ organization to help them succeed.
Why do you want to go into a career in PR or social media?
I want to pursue a career in PR or social media because I have always been drawn to both fields and have had many opportunities to manage social media for organizations I’m involved in. I currently run the Instagram account for my fraternity, Delta Tau Delta, and recently served as the Marketing Director for TCNJam, an organization at TCNJ, where I oversaw the entire marketing team, including social media, graphics, and photo/video.
What is the #1 thing you want to learn in your internship?
I want to improve my social media and editing skills across different platforms. I’ve had experience managing social media and promoting organizations on campus, but I’m excited to learn how those skills translate into a professional PR environment and how successful campaigns are planned, executed, and evaluated.
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
My favorite hobbies and interests are spending time with friends and family, listening to music, playing video games, hiking, and shopping.

Meet Alyssa
Where do you go to college and what is your major?
I am a rising senior at The College of New Jersey and studying Communications with a specialization in Mass Media and Social Media, while also being a member of the Varsity Women’s Soccer Team.
What course has been your favorite and why?
Interpersonal Communication was my favorite course at The College of New Jersey because it gave me a great understanding of how people interact, communicate, and build relationships in both personal and professional settings. What I enjoyed most about this course was how relevant it was to my everyday life. I was able to apply concepts I was learning in class like, active listening, conflict resolution, and verbal and nonverbal communication. Not only was I able to apply these concepts to my own life, but was also able to educate my friends and family on these concepts too. Overall this course helped me become a better communicator and strengthened skills that I know will use to continue benefiting me personally and professionally.
Why do you want to go into a career in PR or social media?
I’m highly interested in pursuing a career in PR and social media because I’ve always been interested in how brands connect with consumers online and how messaging can influence people’s opinions, interests. I think what drew me to wanting to go into this field was the influence it has over me personally, specifically on my buying habits. I spend a lot of time on social media myself, and am constantly noticing how powerful influencer and digital marketing really is. Whether it’s clothes, skincare, makeup, shoes, or random products I never even knew I needed, I’m constantly being influenced personally to buy something I see when I am scrolling because I saw a creator or random person with it or talking about it.
I want to understand why that happens and what makes certain content connect with people so strongly. It amazes me how one video or post can create trends, make such a high demand for something, go viral and influence so many people so quickly. I knew quickly that I wanted to eventually be on the other side of the table, coming up with the strategies and messaging, drawing me to PR and social media.
What is the #1 thing you want to learn in your internship?
One thing I want to learn from this internship is if I’m more passionate about PR or social media. Although, I would be very happy if I ended up enjoying both careers equally, but in the end, I’m hopeful that this experience will help me become more clear about the path I want to take in the future.
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
Some of my biggest interests are definitely anything involving fashion, beauty, and being social. I love shopping, getting my hair and nails done, and honestly anything that feels like a fun self-care day. At the same time, I also really enjoy staying active. Being a student-athlete for as long as I could remember made fitness a huge part of who I am, so I love going on runs (hoping to do a half marathon soon), taking workout classes, training and of course playing sports. I play cp;ege soccer but enjoy so many other sports like volleyball, softball, basketball, and playing pickleball.
I also love baking, especially when I’m making things for other people. Spending time with my friends and family is really important to me too, whether that’s going out to dinner, spending a day at the beach,, watching movies, or just hanging out together. I’m definitely someone who loves going out, dancing, singing, and just having a good time.
Lately, I’ve also gotten really into making my own coffee at home and trying different coffee shops in the area. I’m also obsessed with Playa Bowls. I loved it so much that I actually worked there in high school mostly just because I wanted free bowls. I’m a huge Italian food person too. If I’m going out to eat or not that’s almost always my first choice.
I also love going to concerts, all different types of music. Taking pictures and videos is another favorite thing of mine, I just love to look back on them and think about the good memories with friends and family. I love meeting new people, and honestly just making fun memories and always down for new experiences.
What is your favorite social media platform?
By far my favorite social media platform is TikTok. Over the past few years I have spent a massive amount of time on TikTok and very little on other social media platforms.At this point, it’s honestly the first place I go for almost everything. Whether I’m looking for the best running sneakers, fashion inspiration, makeup recommendations, recipes, hair color ideas, or even news updates, my first instinct is to search TikTok before Google. Infact, I rarely use google anymore to get information, TikTok is more personal, faster and authentic.
Besides information, the entertainment level on TikTok is endless. There have been countless times I am laughing out loud, by myself to videos on my For You Page. The algorithm on the platform is truly fascinating. I also love to create my own personal content on TikTok. My friends and family have been telling me to do this for years because they think I would be great at it. So I have been recently putting out my own content, and who knows maybe they are right and I could get some sort of audience.
Where is your favorite place to vacation?
My favorite place to vacation is definitely Aruba. I genuinely think it’s one of the best vacation spots in the world, and I’m saying that even after vacationing in Hawaii. One of the biggest reasons I love Aruba so much is the weather. Every single day in Aruba is sunny, there’s always sunshine and the most perfect breeze, so it never feels unbearably hot or humid.
I also love how the hotels, restaurants, and shops are all within walking distance. Every night my family and friends walk around the main strip of restaurants and shops. The food in this area is amazing and the gelato is to die for. Must go to the gelato place when you’re there. I went every single night for an entire week one time.
I’m also a huge beach girl, making Aruba my dream vacation spot. The best beaches and water there. Give me a lounge chair, a towel, and a Caesar salad with Shrimp on the beach for lunch, and I am genuinely the happiest girl in the world.
What is your favorite book?
If I’m being honest, I’ve never been a huge reader. My mom and sister absolutely love books, but I’ve always been the type of person who would rather wait for the movie to come out instead. Even though reading has become super popular lately, I still haven’t really developed a strong interest in it. But maybe that will change as I get older.
Although when I was younger I did love reading, and the Junie B. Jones series was my absolute favorite. I think I had almost every book in the series, like I remember I really liked these books. To this day, they’re probably still my favorite books of all time because they’re one of the first things that made reading actually fun and enjoyable for me.
What movie could you watch over and over again?
This is honestly one of my favorite questions to answer because I love talking about my favorite movie. Without a doubt, it’s the live-action Beauty and the Beast. I am not exaggerating when I say I’ve probably watched it over 100 times. Ask any of my friends and family what my favorite movie is and they all know. I’m completely obsessed with it. Belle has always been my favorite Disney Princess, and Emma Watson could not be the more perfect person to play her. The entire movie is just so magical and perfect.
The music in the movie is amazing and I am constantly listening to the movie’s soundtrack. My favorite song in the movie is “Beauty and the Beast” by Ariana Grande and John Legend. I play it all the time and it never gets old. Just saying, it blows the animated version away.
